The Outsiders is a book about friendship, stereotyping, Gangs, and a lot more; but that is what I would like to tell you about. In The Outsiders Ponyboy Curtis is 14 years old, and is the main character of this book. He has two older brothers named Sodapop and Darrel.
Ponyboy has a lot of friends, but, his best friend is Johnny. A lot of people call Johnny, Johnnycake. So one day Ponyboy and Johnny were walking around a park when some Socs came by and jumped them they were going to drown Ponyboy in the fountain so Johnny pulled out a knife and stabbed one of them. The guy that Johnny stabbed died. Johnny knew he killed him so he decided to run and Ponyboy went with him even though he didn’t do anything. It is real friendship when, going with a friend who committed murder and you didn’t have to.Ponyboy always thought that all Socs were mean, rich, and misbehaved. Until, he met a girl, Cheery Valance. She was a Soc. Ponyboy told her that he thought Socs were usually mean, rich, and had an easy life with no problems. Cheery said that “Things are rough all over”. At first he thought she was wrong, but later he figured out that she right. Stereotyping is when you judge someone by there appetence not by who they are.
Ponyboy is part of a gang. He is in a gang with his brothers and some of his friends. They were Greasers and they rivalry was the Socs. Who lived on the east side of town when the Greasers live on the west side of town. A gang is a group kids usually boys who stick together and fight other gangs when the cross there territory.
So now you know somewhat that happens in The Outsiders. You should read The Outsiders. It is a good book and you will learn more about Friendship, Stereotyping, and Gangs.

This book is absolutyl amazing, I fur like me and you grew up out on the streets and know how a hard life can be youll get in touch with this book is many ways its amazing and teachess you alot. However if your not awareof how the hood lif ecan be you may not fully inderstand it as i did.

I've read this book at least a million times since i was 13 (im only 20) and i have to say this book changed me for the better best book I've ever read in my life

This book is just about average. It can be rather boring. All in all, if you like stories about violent teenagers, this is the perfect book for you. If not, don't bother reading it.

im reading the book in school and is realy enjoying it but not finished yet nearly finished tho :) i would give it a 4/5

One of the best books I have ever read for sure!!!! (And I've read A LOT of books in my life!) It was sooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooooo good and written really well! I first had to read it for school, read it again and again, and then bought it! Love this book! :)

This book is inspirating it shows you the true meaning of freindship. An how dangerous gangs can be, reading this book may just change you in many ways it did me!

This is the best book ever. I definitely reccomend it for teenagers that feel out of place, and this is a real story about a group of boys and their struggles together, but they will make it through with eachother.
