The Lightning Thief book and movie review

The Lightning thief is a fantasy book about a boy named Percy Jackson. When the book starts Percy is in 6^th grade. He is 12 years old. He lives in Manhattan, New York. Percy is always getting kicked out of schools. Percy is attending Yancy academy at the beginning of this book. His best friend, Grover, is a Satyr. Percy doesn’t know that about Grover but he does think Grover is a little strange. As the book progresses Percy finds himself being attacked by his pre-algebra math teacher, Mrs. Dodds. Percy gets saved by Mr. Brunner (aka Chiron).

A while later Percy ends up going to Camp half-blood. Camp half-blood is a special place for people like Percy, demigods. At Camp half-blood Percy meets Annabeth. Percy, Grover and Annabeth become best friends.

At Camp half-blood they put you in different cabins based on who ever was your godly parent. To find out their godly parent has to send a sign to claim them. Percy doesn’t know who his godly parent is so he is just put in with the Hermes cabin. The Hermescabin is the biggest cabin because they take all of the unclaimed demigods.

Annabeth is a daughter of Athena, so she is the Athena Cabin. Most of the cabins have campers in them but not all of them do. The Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades cabin are all completely empty, that is until Percy Jackson comes along.

Percy Jackson gets claimed by his godly parent, Poseidon, while he is playing Capture the flag. He gets claimed because his father wants him to go on a quest for him. He wants him to go on a quest to discover who has Zeus’s master bolt.

My Opinion of the cast was simply just ‘wow....how could they be so retarded...’.

All the main characters of the cast were about 3-7 years older then they were supposed to be. Then they came out with the teaser trailer and I thought ‘okay, maybe Logan Lerman looks like Percy but he looks like the Percy that should be in the final movie, The Last Olympian. I finally just decided to accept all of the characters, seeing as they weren’t going to change them (or at least dye their hair….).
